Desert Classic XXV - Region 8 Convention

This will be both the 25th Desert Classic model contest hosted by the AVG IPMS, and the 2023 IPMS Region 8 Regional Model Contest, so it will be a special event for everyone. We will feature 45 standard competitive categories, plus 2 Junior categories, and 13 Special Awards categories. Our event will be held in a well lit high school gymnasium which was very popular in 2022. Vendor tables are available. Food and drink may be available on site, and parking is available at no charge. Flight 19 Modelfest '23

Modelfest '23 is our annual model show/contest.  It is a one day event that will be held at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center in Pompano Beach.  A beautiful facility that is well illuminated, provides for a large vendor room and separate model room that allows for good spacing.  This years theme is "The 70's, any kit manufactured in the 70's  and built like we built them back then,  no aftermarket other than decals.  This years show represents the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the club.

Noreastcon 2023

IPMSNENY will host the Region1 Regional on 29 April, 2023 at the Polish Community Center at 225 Washington Avenue Extension in Albany, New York. There will be vendors, a contest and seminars. Lunch will be available on site. Doors will open at 9:00 A.M. More details to come on the IPMSNENY website.

2023 IPMS Region 12 Convention & Contest

Charlotte Scale Modelers and Gaston County Model Builders will be hosting the IPMS Region 12 Convention and Contest on Saturday, November 4, 2023. The event will be held at the Gaston County Citizens Resource Center located at 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034. The event is being sponsored by the Gaston County Visitors Bureau.

The model contest will be judged according to all IPMS rules and there will be 84 separate categories including 14 categories for juniors.

The contest will have numerous vendors on-site and there will be an on-going raffle throughout the event.

Region 12 will conduct a business meeting.

This venue site hosted a very successful Regional contest in 2017 and has more than adequate space for entry displays, club displays and vendors. There is additional work space for meetings and judging.

Best of the West Region 8 Convention and Contest

IPMS Las Vegas host the 2022 Region 8 Contest and convention on August 27th, 2022 at the Orleans Hotels and Casino Bienville Room.  The show will open at 9:00 am, judging at 12:00, Awards at 3:30 and conclude at 5 pm.  There will be 36 vendor tables with vendors from Las Vegas, Utah, Arizona and California.  56 different categories will be judged using IPMS USA criteria and awards for 1st through 3rd in each category.  Special judging rules in effect.  no touching models, no flashlights, no optical devices or mirrors, no sweeps. Adult model entry is $15.00 for first 3 models, $2.00 for each additional.  $2.00 discount with valid IPMS Membership.  Juniors under 18 free with unlimited entries.  Juniors will be judged 1st through third in 5 seperate classes, AIrcraft, Armor, Automotive, Sci-Fi and Misc.  General Show admission Adults $5.00.
