Dear Members,

I want to formally introduce the National Convention Steering Committee (NCSC). Formed under the 2nd Vice President, the committee will provide a continuity resource for the society and membership in support of the National Convention. The NCSC’s goal is to create and maintain an online resource and standardized process that increases convention bids and enables a seamless transition from year to year for clubs hosting the National Convention. The committee will serve as a mechanism for continuous improvement and capture convention best practices for implementation.

Some members have expressed concern that they might have to join PayPal to pay online through our MyIPMSUSA.org membership and convention system. While we have used PayPal as a payment processor for many years, there is no need to be a PayPal member to make a credit or debit card payment online. Once you click the Pay Online button and arrive at the screen with the heading “Pay with PayPal", simply click the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” button at the bottom of the page and you will be sent to the "PayPal Guest Checkout" screen. One of the first actions of business by the current Executive Board was to agree to provide complete transparency to the membership in our governance of the business of the Society. As a part of that effort, the Board commissioned a committee composed of Executive Board members to perform an extensive review of the current (2017) text of the IPMS/USA Constitution and By-Laws. The committee was tasked with proposing revisions to “clean-up and clarify” the existing text language, and to offer amendment proposals that more accurately reflect the Board’s understandings of a consensus of the membership that elected them.

Upon review of the Executive Board of the results put forth by the committee, we unanimously concur and endorse them in their entirety. We...
