High Plains Con XXXIV

This is the annual contest in the Fort Collins-Loveland area of Colorado, hosted by High Plains Modelers.  It will be held October 10th, 2026 at the. Ranch Events complex, McKee 4H building, 5280 Area Circle, Loveland Colorado, 80538. 

We have 43 categories that cover all areas of plastic modeling.  This year our theme is Route 66. celebrating the 100th anniversary of the historic highway running through the heart of our country.  Any connection to 66 is o.k., (1966 model cars, B-66 bomber aircraft, etc.). We're very liberal in granting special theme elegibility to models.

We invite everyone to participate; enter your models or just come to view the work everyone else.

ModelFest 2026

2026 Modelfest will be held on Saturday, August 29 at Liberty Christian Fellowship Church, 1815 W Liberty Dr, Liberty, MO 64068.

This year's special theme is "Prototypes and Experimental"

Registration will be open from 9:00am until noon, with awards at 3:00pm.

Admission

  * Adults (18+): $10.00 for the first 3 entries, $1.00 for each additional
    entry
  * Juniors (17 and under): free
  * Walk-in (not competing): $3.00 per person, kids under 12 are free

Judging

  *  All categories (except Juniors) will be judged according to IPMS rules
  *  Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Best Of in each category
  *  Junior categories will be judged using the Open System

Raffle

  * Model kits from a vairiety of categories and subjects
  * Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

  • Vendor setup starts at 7am.
  • Doors open to the public & registration begins at 9am.
  • Noon: Registration closes, raffle begins.
  • Judges meeting is at 12:15 in the lobby. Judging begins promptly upon its conclusion. Pizza lunch for judges!
  • The contest area is closed during judging.
  • 3pm judging closed, awards placed, and contest area reopened. Special awards ceremony to follow.

MosquitoCon 35

MosquitoCon is an annual one day contest with a large turnout of models (over 500) and modelers.  2027 will be our 35th show.  We get a large turnout of vendors as well - generally 80-100 tables.  Modelers and visistors come from many surrounding states and further.

ModelMania 2027

ModelManina is Houston’s largest, fine-scale model show.  All subjects and all scales are welcome.  We have perhaps the largest vendor room in Texas.  We door prizes and a large raffle during the awards ceremony.  For the youngsters we have a Make 'N Take Section. 

The show is open to the general public and is attended by many from all over the state and region. Each year an average of 600 scale models are entered in the contest.

Old Dominion Open

The Old Dominion Open has been held for over 30 years growing to one of the largest single day show in the country. We feature 80 model categories for entry in the contest portion of our Show. Over 45 vendors also typically participate. Our venue is in a historical building within the Ricmond International Raceway complex with 36,000 square feet of floor space.
