Wrighttreat 2017 has now become an annual event where like minded modelers come together and build, talk and share modeling techniques. We have reserved the Phantom - Sabre room at the Hope Hotel for the retreat. The event is simple, bring along a model or models to work on and some building tools. Don't worry if you forget something, someone should be able to help you out. The room will open 0900ish Friday morning and we will roll right through to the IPMS Wright Field Scale Modlers Sunday afternoon meeting. We typically lock the room up at 1100 pm and start up again at 0800 the next morning. If you suffer from insomnia, we can make arrangments. Feel free to stay for a day, two or all three if you are able to. :-)
Additionally, If you have some models or modeling items to sell, please feel free to bring those items along as well. Event costs are $10 for the weekend to help offset the costs of renting the room for the weekend.
Please the WFSM Wrighttreat website for more information. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask via my email. wrighttreat@ipmsdayton.com
New England's first show/contest of the fall season features over 50 contest categories and special awards, vendors and modeling seminars.
The annual Showdown is a traditional judged contest. We award 1, 2 and 3rd place for each of the 21 catagories. In addition we have Master awards for Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Engine Compartment, Best Chassis Detail and Floyd Bryant Best of Show award. Also we have the Bob Barnett award for Best 50's style custom.
Common Kit Theme for the Showdown is the Moebius 69-72 Ford Pickup. Any Version is ok.
The show is an opportunity to display models of all scales and categories. Judging utilizes the "open system" of judging where a modeler's entries are judged on their own merit irrespective of other modelers and entries. There is no direct competition and no limit on the number of gold, silver or bronze awards given. There will be several special awards for specific topics. Youth are welcome to display their models. Vendors will be present and there will be raffle tables.
