SuperCon 2019

The 2019 edition of the annual SuperCon!

To be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Bob Duncan Community Center in Vandergriff Park - Arlington, Texas (same location as the past many years!).

This is our annual contest - 70+ categories, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awards for each category.

Special Awards including:

  • Best in Show
  • Most Popular
  • President's Award
  • Theme Award  - this year's theme will be:  "1919 to 1939 - an age of innovation"  Any intem or figure that was present during this time period is elegible for the theme award
  • Skip Rogers Yankee Station Memorial Award - Best US Navy subject from the Vietnam War/Yankee Station
  • Charlie Jay Memorial Award - Best In-Country Vietnam War subject
  • Greatest Generation Award - Best WWII subject
  • 8th AF Award - Best WWII European Allies Aircraft subject
  • Best Luftwaffe subject (1935-present)
  • Karl Hibscher Memorial Award - Best WWII Pacific Theater subject
  • James Belden Memorial Award - Best Cold War subject

Other things:

  • Vendor tables - buy more plastic.  You can't have too much plastic!!!
  • Door prize drawings!

Times:

  • Show officially opens at 9:00 AM.
  • Model entries are accepted from 9:00 AM to Noon.
  • Judging begins at 1:00 PM and is usally completed by 3:30 PM.
  • Awards begin shortly after the completion of all judging.

Fees:

  • Adults:  $15.00 for one to three models, additional models are $2.00 each
  • Juniors (11 to 14 years old):  $5.00 for one or two models, additional models are $1.00 each
  • Children (10 years old or under):  $3.00 for one to three models, additional models are $1.00 each
  • General Admission:  $5.00 per person

Vendors Tables:  All tables are $25 (one 8-foot, or two 4-foot tables).  Table fees are in addition to applicable registration fees.

Note – Tables will be confirmed with advance payment only.  Any remaining tables will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  To reserve tables, please contact Bob Ferrera at 817-600-1377, between 4pm and 8pm weekdays, and 10am to 8pm Saturdays.

Directions:

  • From Fort Worth or Dallas - take I-20 towards Arlington.
  • Exit Matlock, turn north.
  • go north for 0.9 miles, to the light at Mayfield, turn right (east)
  • go east for 0.5 miles to the light at Center Street, turn left (north)
  • go 0.5 miles, the Bob Duncan Community Center will be on your left.

Showdown 2019

The annual Showdown is a traditional judged contest. We award 1, 2 and 3rd place for each of the 21 catagories. In addition we have Master awards for Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Engine Compartment, Best Chassis Detail and Floyd Bryant Best of Show award. Also we have the Bob Barnett award for Best 50's style custom.

Common Kit Theme for the Showdown is the Revell 1983 Olds Cutlass. Any Version is ok.

 

Vendor Information:

We have a limit of 28 Vendor Tables. These are 8 foot tables.

The cost is $35 per table. If paid in advance by Feb 22, 2019 the are $30 each.

Blizzcon 2019

Welcome to the 46th annual premier modeling event for Central Ohio, Blizzcon 2019.  

The show will be at the same location as the last two years, The Arts Impact Middle School in the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center. The Arts Impact Middle School is at 680 Jack Gibbs Boulevard, the first building on the right from the main entrance. Signs will be posted. Vendor parking and unloading is at the back. 

To get to the correct parking lot, set your GPS or Google Maps to 546 Jack Gibbs Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

General Admission is only $5 per family (Spouses and children under 12 are free). Disabled veterans and their families get in for free. Master Class: $10.00 (Includes 2 models), additional models $1.00 Each; Adult Class: $10.00 (Unlimited models); Teens Class: $1.00 (Unlimited Models); Youth Class: $1.00 (Unlimited Models)
