2022 VIRGINA SHOOT-OUT MODEL CONTEST AND CONVENTION

The Roanoke Valley Chapter of IPMS is pleased to announce the return of the Virginia Shoot-Out Model Contest to the Salem Civic Center, Saturday, August 13, 2022.  We look forward to welcoming all of our modeling brethren to a full day of modeling fun and friendship.  Over 78 Categories, as well as "Best Ofs" and other Special awards will be presented.  Vendors galore, raffle, mega-raffle and a Super Raffle prize will be available.  Also, new this year, we will have a silent auction for up-scale items.  We look forward to seeing members from Regions 2, 3 and 12 as well as neighboring car model clubs and Gundam, war-gaming, space and sci-fi organizations.  Please note that we will follow safety guidelines as set forth by state and local jurisdictions as far as masking is concerned.  So put the lawnmower in the shed for a Saturday and venture to Salem for a great day of modeling mayhem.  Contact Tim Ward at 1-540-977-6205 or go to twardf86@aol.com or contact Greg Clower at 1-540-650-1552 or gclower@aol.com for vendor information.  Please check out our website at www.rvipms.com for updates as they happen.  Look forward to seeing you at our show.

NIMCON is one of the largest summer events in Region 5. In honor of our 10th show the theme of the show is "10". So any subject with the number 10 or X in its designation is eligible for the theme award. Gold, Silver, Bronze awards. Best of and special awards. Cincinnati Scale Modelers Contest & Swap Meet 2022

Cincinnati Scale Modelers annual show will be held again at the Tri-State Warbird Museum just minutes outside of the Cincinnati limits.  The show is open to all modelers and the venue offers a great experience to see restored WWII flyable aircraft and also the opportunity for modelers to showcase their work.  Vendors will also be present offering many items related to the modeling craft including kits, paints, reference material, and more.  The show is an exciting event with awards and offers inspiration from the work displayed.

Orangecon New Venue

IPMS Orange County hosts an annual model contest each October or September called OrangeCon.

OrangeCon has proven to be the largest and most respected gathering of modelers and their models in Southern California for more then 20 years.  The models displayed cover all types and eras of subject matter.

OrangeCon features Vendors and Special Events, but is most for the contest portion of the event with a large number of contest categories as well as special theme awards and as many as 600 entries which is remarkable as it is only a one day event.

We invite modelers of all ages and experience to participate in OrangeCon as well as those interested in only viewing the models to attend our event.

39th Annual Smoky Mtn Model-Con

Every year the Knoxville Scale Modelers Association hosts a show and model competition. Categories include Aircraft, Armor, Automobiles/Trucks, Ships, Figures, Sci Fi/Fantasy and Miscellaneous. All ages are welcome to enter the contest, with special Junior categoires for those under the age of 18. Visitors are welcome with a small admission fee, under 18 years of age are free. San Diego Model Contest and Swap Meet

Model contest with 37 categories. Dual special theme awards "Arsenal of Democracy" & "Those 70s Cars". Swap meet with over 55 vendors tables of model kits and aviation collectibles.
