The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (IPMS) donated $371 to the 2018 United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) Toys for Tots campaign in Metropolitan St. Louis. The club’s 2018 president, Chris Merseal, presented the check to the USMCR just before Christmas.

IPMS/Gateway raised the money primarily through a kit raffle held during the IPMS/Gateway Invitational contest, which was held on September 8, 2018 at the Holiday Inn St. Louis SW—Route 66 in Sunset Hills, Missouri. Funds were also raised through 50/50 raffles held at several IPMS/Gateway meetings. Half the money raised by these drawings went to the Toys for Tots contribution, while the other half went to the persons holding the winning tickets.

Our WRBP Membership is proud to announce the establishment of the IPMS Willow Run Bomber Plant Chapter on December 11th, 2018.  Our Chapter is located in Ypsilanti Michigan – home of the Willow Run Bomber Plant and “Rosie the Riveter”.

The WRBP Chapter name proudly reflects the history and heritage of Henry Ford’s famous Willow Run Bomber Plant, in Ypsilanti Michigan This plant built over 8000 B-24 Liberators in WW2.

General meetings are held at the UAW Local 898 Union Hall located at 8975 Textile Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Roy Mabry:  1946-2018

Roanoke Valley member Roy Mabry passed away on November 4, 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. While only being in the club for a few short years Roy had become one of the members you knew would be there when something needed to be moved, unloaded and reloaded at shows and demos and just about anything else that needed to be done. Even in the last few months when the pain from his cancer became worse, he still always found a way or managed to work through it to help where he could.

The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (IPMS) donated $661 to the United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) Toys for Tots campaign in Metropolitan St. Louis today (December 15). The club presented its contribution at a Toys for Tots toy drive held at The Summit at Gravois Bluffs, 788 Gravois Bluffs Blvd. in Fenton, Missouri. Radio station Y98 (KYKY, 98.1 FM) broadcast live from Gravois Bluffs during this event.
