Hasegawa Photo Contest

Hasegawa is holding a Photo Contest between October 1st and November 30, 2011, through a link on the Hasegawa USA Facebook page.  We're hoping you'll be able to "help out the cause" by posting the following link to your website.  This link directs people to the contest page where they can find the rules and regs along with being able to see what their fellow modelers are posting.  Thank you in advance and let the games begin!

IPMS San Diego and Coronado Public Library Make 'n Take

As part of the US Navy Aviation Centennial celebration the San Diego chapter of IPMS and the Coronado Public Library teamed up for a Make 'n Take on July 23rd, 2011. The Library's curator, Candice Hooper supported the event with space, setup, shipping, supplies and a host of other items, including pizza for lunch! IPMSSD provided eight volunteers, and all of them were kept busy. Revell provided models and IPMS Junior Coordinator provided guidance. The models were Revell Snaptite 1:72 scale F-14 Tomcats, in keeping with the Centennial theme.

MnT Event

I would like to thank IPMS for the great contribution to Red River Scale Modeler’s first ever make & take event.  We must also thank the East Grand Forks Campbell library for taking an interest in our beloved hobby and asking us to host the event as part of “Professor Marvel’s - Marvel’s at the Library” summer activities program.  We had initially agreed on 32 attendants.  Upon registering kids, the event was bumped up to 40 attendants with a waiting list!  We had two rooms set up with models - one for 20 kids ages 6-8 (kindergarten to 2nd grade) and the other with 20 kids ages 9-11 (th

Dragon Models USA Announcement

Dragon Models USA is pleased to announce today that it has been appointed the exclusive distributor for Aoshima Models for North America.

AOSHIMA was established in 1923 in Shizuoka, JAPAN as an airplane research institute. In 1929, Aoshima Models started to manufacture wooden model kits utilizing their accumulated knowledge and experience from airplane operations. The success of their model kits allowed them to carry their passion for quality to other outstanding hobby products.

IPMS Northern Virginia Modelers

On Monday, June 13, 2011, IPMS Northern Virginia Modelers delivered 140 kits to Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a gift to our Wounded Warriors. The kits were donations from chapter members, the IPMS DC chapter, attendees at our recent Model Classic show, as well as a legacy donation in memory of a former chapter member, Mike Lampros. The kits were divided between the Red Cross unit at the hospital and the Army's Warrior Transition Brigade.
