Scalefest 2017

IPMS North Central Texas chapter will host Scalefest 2017 on June 3, 2017.  The theme of the event is "INTO THE WILD BLUE", celebrating the 70th anniversary of the U.S. AIR FORCE.

CAN/AM CON '17

IPMS/Champlain Valley, in collaboration with the Mount Mansfield Scale Modelers, will be presenting CAN/AM CON '17.  Our contest theme is "Remember the '60s" 

In addition to our normal 40+ categories, there will be Theme Awards, recognizing the Best 60's era Aircrafrt, Armor, Automotive, Ship, Figure, Dio/Vignette, and Space/Sci-Fi Subjects.  Theme award subjects must be related to the 1960s, created in the '60s, popular in the '60s, or ended in the '60s.  The '60s connectin is at the builder's discretion.

Special Awards will be for Best of Class, People's Choice, and Judges' Best of Show.

The contest poster, registration form, and model entry form will be available on the ipmscv.com website, or at the Facebook Page of the Mount Mansfield Scale Modelers.

Granitecon XXV

Yearly model show and contest with vendors of interest put on by the Granite State Modelers Club. a chapter of IPMS/USA based in Nashua, NH judged using IPMS rules.

Blizzcon 2017

The 44th Annual Blizzcon will be held on 18th February 2017 at the Arts Impact Middle School, 680 Jack Gibbs Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

Continuing our cinematic theme for geography tradition, we're going to the Land Down Under for an awesome framing.

Special emphasis on all subjects Oz & Kiwi (Australia & New Zealand or directly related) for several Special awards, including

  • "On The Beach" (Best Overall Contest Theme Subject),
  • "Blast The Bush" (Best ANZAC, RAAF or UK Nuclear Weapons Subject)
  • "Mad Max, Road Warrior" (Best Post 1945 Oz/Kiwi Subject) .
  • Also "Tasmanian Titan" (Best F1/Tasman Formula Car or Driver, not limited to Oz/Kiwi teams but will break tie with them getting the advantage),
  • "By Dawn's Early Light"(Best Prehistoric Subject) and Contest Director's returning favorite "Lightning Strikes Twice" (Best Lockheed, English Electric, Arado twin engine "Lightning/Blitz").

CoMMiESFest 2017

CoMMiESFest 2017 will be the 8th annual people's glorious model show and contest. The theme this year is "Let It Snow". Models with a snowy motif will be eligible for the special theme award. As usual we will have a full slate of demonstrations and talks of interest to modelers, a make & take, and more vendors than you can shake a stick at.
