TrailCon

Show Theme: Big Screen, Little Screen

To qualify for the theme award, the model must be something from a TV show or a movie.

This will allow all types of models, subjects and figures from cave men to science fiction.

The model must list the movie or TV show where it is from. Figures do not have to have a TV show or movie listed, as many figures are not connected with a particular show or movie, though they can be if the modeler wishes.

WE HAVE ADDED TWO NEW CATEGORIES THIS YEAR!

They are: "Picture This" and "Retro Kit, Pre 1975 Tooling", which were themes last year.

"Picture this" requires that the entry have a matching picture to the entry. If the picture is black and white, paint the model in gray scale. If the picture is in color, and the colors have shifted, then the model must be painted to match the color shift.

"Retro Kit, Pre '75 molding is any kit that is built from molds that were made before 1975. Retooled molds are not allowed. The modeler must work with the older molding, and can improve the kit with workmanship and any modifications, scratch built parts, and after market parts they wish.

Oregon Modelers Society Fall Show and Contest

The Oregon Modelers Society is proud to announce our new Fall show and contest. We have moved the event to Camp Withycombe, located in Clackamas, Oregon. Attendees will find the new location much more convenient to get to, it is only half an hour from the Oregon border, and has many food options close by. The building we are using was completed a few years ago at a cost of 6 million dollars. The lighting is fantastic, parking is plentiful and there are a couple of WWII tanks out front...what more could we ask for.

The show will be held to the same high standard of our past events. We produce our own awards for the contest and this year we are rolling out a new design for both the "First Place" and "Best Of" awards. Build your best and see if you will be one of the first to be awarded one!

TigerCon

The Central Missouri Scale Modelers Club is proud and excited to present TigerCon each year in early November. Centrally located in Columbia Missouri, we have modelers from all parts of the state attend the contest, as well as some from out-of-state!

This sixth annual TigerCon has over 40 model categories to enter. Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are given for each category. Judging follows the IPMS rules with "no sweeps". There are also additional award trophies for "Best of Show" and "People's Choice".

The event always features a number of vendors, so in addition to winning awards, you can stock up for your Winter modeling projects!

Each year TigerCon also features a Make-N-Take event for young modelers ages 8 to 12. Youth can assemble an easy-to-build snap-kit model of their choice for free to take home. Parents and guardians are encouraged to assist the youth, but event staff is on-hand to show the kids what to do.

The facility is handicapped accessible, with many restaurants and hotels near by.
