IPMS Hawkeye Modelers 50th Anniversary Model Show

The Hawkeye Modelers are having a show to celebrate the club's 50th Anniversary.

We plan to have awards that are called Celebrating the Decades, each one for the best model representing one of 5 decades ( 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s), for which the item depicted was in service, built, or used in (not the model in of itself). These awards will be determined by participant voting, each participant getting a form at model registration, and will need to choose the model they think best fits each decade. (Models are limited to one decade, so please choose the best one if it covered more than one decade of service)

There will be juried awards, for the following: Best of Show, Theme - BEST OF '69, and Best of Category Awards (Aircraft, Military Vehicles, Automotive, Science Fiction, Real Space, Ships, Figures, Juniors, Diorama, and Miscellaneous)

Registration opens at 9 AM, and closes at Noon. Awards presentation "planned" for 3 PM.

Contest entry fee will be $10 for each participant, limited to 5 models that can be entered.

We plan to have Vendors, and a Raffle.

CANCELED - RiverCon IX 2020

Well, its official – we’re canceled by the state.

LSU-S Campus in Shreveport has officially canceled all events through May 30th, 2020, including RiverCon IX 2020.

Red River Modelers understand the impact of this decision, but right now it’s about protecting your health and safety and preventing the spread of the coronavirus throughout our region.

We recognize that the coronavirus is a very serious safety concern for all who would have attended RiverCon IX 2020.

We are working with the LSU-S Director of Events Management about rescheduling RiverCon IX for later this year. Once we solidify that date, we will make our announcement via Facebook, emails, and here.

In the meantime, be safe and take care of yourself and your families. Model on!
