Wrightreat is the Wright Field Scale Modelers annual model-building retreat. The event is a relaxed environment where modelers can come together to build, learn, and/or teach skills and techniques associated with model building. Questions and enjoyment are encouraged. Registration fees are $25 for the weekend or $10 per day. (Registration is required to participate.)
Plastic model contest based on basic modeling craftsmanship such as construction and painting. Junior, Teen and Open age groups. Categories (planes, cars, tanks, figures, ships, Sci fi, dioramas, etc) and rules at www.ipmsanchorage.com. Open to the public, any age, skill level or plastic modeling interest is welcome. Entry fee is $4.00 per model for adults and $1.00 per model for juniors.

The Roanoke Valley IPMS will be celebrating it's 31st year by hosting the Virginia ShootOut again. The show will have 78 class's, mulitple special awards, theme awards that include Best Great War Subject-Best Italian-Best Reel Model and The Leo Award. There will be a Retro class which is for OOB 1/72 Revell P-47 Thunderbolts and 1/25 Revell 1964 Thunderbolts. There will also be vendors, make and take for the kids and lots of fun. Doors open at 9:00 am and awards will be at 4:30pm.
The Cincinnati Scale Modelers will host their annual model show and contest Saturday, October 19th at the Tri-State Warbird Museum just minutes outside of the Cincinnati limits. The show is open to all modelers and the venue offers a great experience to see restored WWII flyable aircraft and also the opportunity for modelers to showcase their work. There will be over 50 tables of vendors selling plastic model kits, supplies, books, and aviation/military related items. The event will also showcase a completed model contest with 100's of entries. A special admission price for the day gives visitors full access to the museum, vendors, and contest area. Come on out to see professionally finished plastic models as well as shop an amazing variety of model kits and supplies! The show is an exciting event with awards and offers inspiration from the work displayed.
