Please join the Alexander Lippisch Chapter for their 19th annual show and contest. The event will be held at the Berndes Center in Monticello, Iowa. We use an open judging format for judging most categories, and a contest format for judging the "Best of" awards. IPMS rules apply for both types of judging. Information on categories and cost will be avaialble on the club website. Special awards include Best Japanese subject, Best Vietnam subject, and Best 1/72 scale Armor.

Doors will open at 8 a.m.with model registration. Judging begins shortly thereafter at 8:30 a.m.

ST. LOUIS — The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (IPMS) will present its 16th annual model contest and swap meet on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn St. Louis Southwest--Route 66, 10709 Watson Road, St. Louis, MO 63127.

The show opens to the public at 9:00 a.m. and runs to approximately 3:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 for adults and free to children ages 14 and under. Admission plus unlimited model registrations is $10 for adults and free for children ages 14 and under. Model registration and viewing are from 9:00 am to noon. The contest has 37 categories, including juniors and out of the box, and there will be 10 “Best of” awards. A special contest category celebrates “1942: The Hinge of Fate” (anything related to the year 1942). A free children’s Make & Take model building session will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Additionally, there will be scale modeling technique demonstrations, hobby vendors, and a raffle of model kits and supplies.

Gateway Chapter IPMS is a scale modeling club which is open to all persons interested in this hobby. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Affton Elks Lodge 2635, located at 6330 Heege Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.

RiverCon XII - 2023

Main Theme: “Cancer Awareness.”  Any model or entry with a color(s) from the Cancer Ribbon Color Chart or organizational logo.  10% of contest proceeds will be donated to a Cancer Awareness Organization.

We will also have special awards for:

“The President’s Choice Award” will go the Best Model (as chosen by the RRM Club President.)

“Wings of the Mighty Eighth: Harold “Buck” Rigg Memorial Award” is anything related to the 8th Air Force from WWII to present and covering all aircraft to missiles.

“Bud Lindemann Car and Track Award” is for any car model representing a Hot Wheel; must have matching Hot Wheel in whether in original package or not.

“70th Anniversary of the Corvette" special car theme sponsored by Hope Contractors.   Any ’Vette” built from 1953 to present day. (all types, all scales).     

“Patton’s Cup” for any US Army or US made tank regardless of whose markings are on them, all sizes/all eras, except dioramas.

A People’s Choice Award given to an entry based on general public’s vote.

The Grand Master’s Category & Award.  We’ve created a special category for any model that has won the “Best of Class” award at any level whether local, regional National, or other modeling contest venue.  “Best of Class” meaning Best Aircraft, Best Auto, Best of Show, etc.  This category is not for those who won theme awards, special wards, or the individual category winners (typical 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winners).  Models in this category are not eligible for any other show or contest awards; i.e. Theme, President’s Award, Best of Show, etc.  Must bring proof; i.e. trophy accompanying the entry.

IPMS Sacramento SilverWings is proud to host our annual SilverCon Model Show & Contest.   SilverCon 2022 will be held at the Town & Country Luteran Church located at 4049 Marconi Ave. Sacramento, Ca. 95821. on Saturday June 25, 2022.   Our contest registraion will begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm.   We will have a noon time raffle at which time our judging will begin.   

Our contest theme this year is the "45 Anniversary of STAR WARS" and anything related to Star Wars will be eligible for the theme award this year.  

It will be great to be able to host our show & contest this year after having to cancel it in 2021.  We look forward to seeing and meeting all the attendees, contestants, and vendors that come out to our great show!
