Military Modelers club of Louisville Invitatrional

     The MMCl is once again hosting our Invitational contest at Paraquet Springs Conference Center in Shepherdsville, Ky. (17 miles south on I-65 of Louisville). We plan on having 75 vendor tables with plenty of display area.

The MMCL is always noted for having a well run show with a tremendous raffle that is one of the best in all Region 4 .Please come join us next year on Septermber 28,2024.

Model Fiesta 2024

February 10 2024

 

ModelFiesta is the longest running annual modeling event in IPMS Region 6. The contest has grown in size and quality since its early days and now averages over 120 vendor tables and over 500 models entered in the contest each year. With a regular and strong international attendance by modelers from all over Latin America, ModelFiesta is one of the most unique, varied, and highly regarded IPMS events in the region.

The new home for ModelFiesta, the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center (NBCC), is just a quick 20 min drive up the I-35 corridor from San Antonio, and it is closer for those coming to the event from the north (Austin, Dallas). For modelers coming in from the East (Houston, Louisiana), I-10 is still the primary route to take, exiting in Seguin on Hwy-46 to New Braunfels. From the west and south, attendees can connect to Hwy-46 through various roads and highways and reach New Braunfels with ease. NBCC is a relatively new structure with excellent lighting, electrical hook-ups, and a professional and helpful staff.

HRSM 16th Annual Model Swap Meet Auction

The 16th HRSM “Model Auction” Swap Meet will held in the customary venue at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Virginia Beach. VA on Saturday, 28 October 2023 from 10am to 4pm.  Held in air-conditioned comfort with on-site ‘cheap eats’ concession and good company, it is hoped to be – again – an entertaining diversion for an Autumn day.  Attendees should expect to dig into that attic, closet or garage stash and find those unneeded, excess or unwanted (is there such a thing?) kits, books and other modeling supplies to put out for conversion to either cash or “new” raw materials.

The ‘auction’ format provides fast-paced action that quickly disposes of the presented “lots”, and where luck and timing hold sway.   The result is more fun and exciting than the usual ‘swap meet’ – and everyone has the opportunity to win!
