There will be a major update to the IPMS/USA website very soon, as mentioned in the 2026 Nationals Business Meeting slideshow.

The main goal of this update is to move the website to newer software. This will make the site easier to maintain and make future updates much simpler. The website will also receive a new look and updated menus, similar to the IPMS Nationals website and the IPMS Reviews website.

The update will happen in two parts.

Part 1 – Launching the New Website

First, the current IPMS/USA website will be moved to a new web address and kept as an archive.

All of the existing content will remain available on the archived site while the new website is being completed. Once the migration is finished, we will decide which, if any, of the archived content needs to remain available.

The first version of the new website will then go live. It will include almost everything currently on the website except Events and Chapters.

Events and Chapters

The Events and Chapters sections will temporarily remain on the archived website.

There are a couple of reasons for this:

• The current Events system is very complicated and needs to be rebuilt for the new website.

• A new process is being developed to bring Chapter information directly from myipmsusa.org into the new website.

Until those systems are completed, the new website will provide links to the Events and Chapters sections on the archived site.

Once the new Events and Chapters systems have been fully built and tested, they will be moved to the new website.

The new website will also allow members to submit News and Hobby Shop items.

Part 2 – New Events and Chapters System

After the new Events and Chapters systems are completed and tested, they will be launched on the new website.

At that point, people will be able to create new events using the calendar on the new site.

The archived website will then stop accepting new event submissions. Existing events on the archived site will remain available until they naturally pass their event dates. Some of those existing events may also be moved to the new website.

What This Means for Members

The transition will happen gradually so that information remains available throughout the process. I do not expect much downtime for the initial migration; I do not yet know about the second part.

For a while, you may see some sections of the IPMS/USA website on the new site and other sections still being handled by the archived site. This is intentional and will allow us to complete the more complicated parts of the transition without taking those services offline.

Once everything has been completed and tested, the goal is to have the Events and Chapters systems fully operating on the new IPMS/USA website.
