The Roanoke Valley IPMS Convention Committee is proud to announce the return of the Region 2 Convention to the Salem Civic Center, October 16-17, 2020.  This year's theme, "Eyes on the Prize", salutes all of the keen-eyed (20/20) model-makers in Region 2, as well as super model-builders from other regions and model clubs.  Bring your styrene works of art to the Salem Civic Center for 2 full days of modeling fun, friendship and focus on all things model related.  Vendors from all over Region 2 as well as local sellers will fill the Salem Civic Center with wares to excite novice model-malers as well as seasoned pros alike.  Seminars, "how-to" displays, club entries and manufactureres demos will highlight the show.  Over 80 categories will alow modelers to compete in almost every known genre, i.e. aircraft, armor, automotive, space and sci-fi, figures, dioramas, miscellaneous and junior categories will fill the display tables.  Special awards will be awarded to the "Best Of" category as well as specialty awards for individual achievement as well as clubs competing for the highly-coveted, Virginia Shoot-Out Award, presented to the club who wins the most combined points.  IPMS Tidewater currently holds the Shoot-Out Award.  I'm sure past winners like Roanoke Valley, Richmond, NOVA, CenPenn and the other chapters in Region 2 will have something to say about that, not to mention clubs from other Regions.  We are hoping to set all new records on attendance and registration.  Attendees will be able to enjoy two full days of shopping, seminars, comrarderie, and fellowship. A full course banquet on Saturday evening will allow modelers and their "better-halves" to break bread and enjoy themselves while the awards are presented in a video tribute to the deserving modelers.  We look forward to seeing all of our friends in Region 2 as well as visitors from all over the US.  Come join us for a fun time for all!!!

IPMS Las Vegas celebrates it's 24th Annual Best of the West Model Show by hosting the IPMS USA Regional Convention.

Las Vegas IPMS model contests are one of the best and most popular in the hobby due to our no-sweep “Spread the Wealth” judging policy which uses IPMS National Rules combined with the caveat that allows for only one win per category per individual entered. This ensures that as many individuals as possible get a chance at taking home a trophy.
