SoonerCon 2018 presented by IPMS Metro Okc
Wrighttreat has now become an annual event where like-minded modelers come together and build, talk and share modeling techniques. We have reserved the Phantom - Sabre room at the Hope Hotel for the retreat. The event is simple, bring along a model or models to work on and some building tools. Don't worry if you forget something, someone should be able to help you out. The room will open 0900ish Friday morning and we will roll right through until Sunday afternoon. Each evening, we typically lock the room up around 1100 pm and start up again at 0800 the next morning. If you suffer from insomnia, we can make an arrangement to stay and build through the night. Feel free to stay for a day, two or all three if you are able to. :-)
Additionally, If you have some models or modeling items to sell, please feel free to bring those items along as well. The event costs $10 for the weekend to help offset the costs of renting the room for the weekend.
Please the WFSM Wrighttreat website for more information. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask via my email. wrighttreat@ipmsdayton.com
We're glad to be continuing alternating our show between the states of New York and Vermont. This year, we're on the New York side at the Plattsburgh Holiday Inn. It's been our venue for several years and has worked out well for our attendees and vendors. We're looking forward to seeing lots of our friends who've attended in the past!

Yes, it is time again for the 10th Annual HRSM Model Auction Swap Meet! As before, it will be held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church - Google directions in Virginia Beach. VA (click for Google Maps) on Saturday, 10 October from 10am to 4pm. So dive into that attic, closet or garage stash and find those unneeded, excess or unwanted (is there such a thing?) kits, books and modeling supplies and convert ’em to cash while making room for your latest goodies…! But be aware, you may be find yourself bringing home more than you take!
Literally, the auction allows sellers to organize their items into (hopefully) attractive packages for competitive bidding, all under the gavel of the gifted Mr. Ed Rose. As explained by the FAQS , the event kicks off at 10am with registered sellers prepping their lots until just before the bidding starts at noon. This gives ample time to complete the necessary paperwork, to examine all the other goodies and to grab a tasty & economical bite from the lunch concession. Once the auction gets going, however, it will move quickly as bidders maneuver for the best deals. Once all lots are finished, final accounting , settlement and disbursement is completed efficiently and accurately – all neat and tidy by way of customized computing tools. But bring cash – whole dollars only! No checks or credit cards, this is for fun after all!
The Model Auction is unique in that participants bid on the “lots” that sellers have provided. The result is a fast-paced review of the goods that is more interesting than the typical stroll through aisles of vendor tables where luck and timing hold sway. The ‘model auction’ format is much more fun and everyone has the opportunity to see everything. Visit the club website for full details: http://hamptonroadsscalemodelers.com
