Jim Sage of Dallas, Texas founded IPMS-USA in 1963. In 1964 Jim hosted the first ever "gathering" which later became our National Convention. A short time later the IPMS North Central Texas (NCT) chapter was officially founded. In 2021, a proposal by NCT was adopted by unanimous resolution and sent to the IPMS USA National Contest Committee (NCC) that the Popular-Best-In-Show Award be known as the Jim Sage Trophy. In 2022 the NCC formally changed the name to include Mr. Sage's name.NCT Chapter meets the second Sunday of every month (check website for details) at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas. Every May the chapter hosts ScaleFest one of the longest running contests in the State of Texas (again check website for annual details).The Chapter has diverse modeling interests and embraces the evolving direction of the hobby into such areas of interest such as Gunpla and Warhammer.
