Round Table / Action Item Updates

  • RA informed the board of the large amount of feedback gathered from the members regarding the latest edition of the IUJ. The feedback has been helpful and will assist the design team as they move forward.
  • Discussion held on the merits and feasibility of digital editions of the IUJ. Digital edition of the National Contest issue will be used and feedback gathered.
  • RA proposes using a heavier weight paper for the cover of the IUJ. A heavier weight paper would reduce cover bleed-through providing a better appearing journal as well as a better value for our advertisers. JF seconds the proposal and PP calls for the vote. The proposal passed.
  • PP was contacted by the President of IPMS/Mexico requesting sponsorship of a Best USAF Aircraft award. IPMS/USA will supply a plaque for the award.
  • JN has connected with some new suppliers for the reviewers.
  • IPMS/USA 60th Anniversary giveaway- JN will write an article highlighting the giveaway to be posted to social media to encourage more awareness.
  • SH- Canada is going to use the model registration system at their contest and will provide feedback. Nancy Kennedy-Hackney (NHK) is working on Wild Apricot article. SH is still working on the new Gundam contest class.

Feedback from the survey will be reviewed for suggestions by a sub-committee of JF, SH, and ETR who will provide suggestions at the next meeting (Action Item assigned to SH).
  • MO- IPMS/USA finances are doing fine. Revenue is currently up due to the 60th Anniversary membership deal. Working with NKH on creating a family convention registration type to differentiate between members bringing their immediate family and members bringing adult guests.
