ModelFiesta 40

IPMS Alamo Squadron would like to invite you to one of the largest scale modeling shows in Texas! Prior to Covid, ModelFiesta had the distinction of being the longest running annual modeling event in IPMS Region 6. The first ModelFiesta was held in Wonderland Mall, now called Crossroads Mall, in 1982 and was held each year since that first contest, being cancelled due to Covid in 2021. Like most IPMS Chapters, we are back, and we are proud to announce that ModelFiesta 40 will held on Jan 8, 2022.

Covid was not the only issue that impacted ModelFiesta. Our host facility in San Antonio had to close its doors in May and that left ModelFiesta homeless. The Event Leadership Team had been vigilant and had been checking out other facilities just in case this might happen. In short order, ModelFiesta found a new home!

Model Fiesta 40 will take place on January 8, 2022, in beautiful New Braunfels, Texas, at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center!  The NBCC is located at 375 S Castell Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130. The NBCC is just 1 mile off of I-35 and is located one block from the city center with its abundance of restaurants, bakeries, and historic sites.

Check out the Alamo Squadron website for information regarding model registration, contest categories, vendor information, hints on where to stay, how to get there, and information about the many attractions in the New Braunfels area.

Cincinnati Scale Modelers Contest & Swap Meet 2021

This year Cincinnati Scale Modelers has partnered with the Tri-State Warbird Museum to bring a truly, exciting experience to the model contest and swap meet!

The purpose of the Museum is to provide a unique up close and personal opportunity to learn about aviation history as well as to appreciate the commitment and sacrifice of the American people during World War II.  The museum has over eight restored aircraft ranging from a P-51D to a P-40M to the B-25.  How exciting it will be to purchase a model kit of a B-25 from a vendor situated under the wing of a restored B-25!  It will be a day of excitement walking around the museum hangars observing the model entries and vendor booths while being right next to the restored aircraft.  We encourage modelers representing all categories to come to the show to support our aviation history, the model building hobby, and appreciate all those that served to keep our country free.
