We have a new Chapter in Region 13 - IPMS/ Nautical Research Guild.

The NRG was formed in 1948 and is a 501 (c)(3) organization.

The current membership of the Nautical Research Guild is approximately 1,100 members from the US, Canada, Mexico and 27 other countries.

We publish the Nautical Research Journal on a quarterly basis.  It is mailed to all members.

We hold an Annual Conference in the fall at various locations around the US - mostly in coastal locations near maritime attractions with links to maritime history.  We often hold our conferences with or at local Maritime Museums.

We have a 7 member Board of Directors, elected by the membership at large, to serve 3 year terms - without limit on the number of terms.  The board...

The website for the 2017 National Convention is now online.

Dear IPMS-USA Members:

As a result of a dialogue between the newsletter editor of a Region 11 chapter, the R-11 Region Coordinator, and John Noack, Director of Local Chapters, a very comprehensive list of questions coming from Region 11 members was submitted to the entire E-board. The board committed to a written response, with the understanding that the questions and answers would be shared with the general membership.

The resulting document covers a lot of territory, but for those unable to attend the annual meeting of the Society at the upcoming National Convention, it serves as a good overview of what your E-board is working on.

Regards,
John Noack DLC

Valued IPMS/USA Members:

It has been brought to our attention that a handful of copies of the last Journal (March/April V28J2) may be missing pages due to a printing error.

Please contact me directly at manager@ipmsusa.org if you are missing any pages from the last Journal so I can mail a replacement to you right away. Our printer has been notified and is working to find the cause and will provide us with credit for the journals we are replacing as well as the postage to mail them.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused if you are one of the few affected by this, but please allow me to correct this for you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your membership,

Marie Van SchoonhovenOffice...

We have begun a project that will hopefully become a useful tool for our members. We are compiling a list of hobby shops to incorporate into an online, graphic database (much like the one we now have for upcoming contests and shows) containing all the pertinent data for local hobby shops recommended by our MEMBERS. Ideally, this list will consist of more than just the locations of local Michaels or Hobby Town franchises and will provide members with info about what makes the store of interest to our hobby, hours of operation and a description of what the store carries. The goal is to create a new, updated database for members that can be accessed via any Internet device.

For this to work, we need you to “nominate” any hobby store in your area that you feel other IPMS/USA members...
