As part of the US Navy Aviation Centennial celebration the San Diego chapter of IPMS and the Coronado Public Library teamed up for a Make 'n Take on July 23rd, 2011. On Monday, June 13, 2011, IPMS Northern Virginia Modelers delivered 140 kits to Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a gift to our Wounded Warriors. The kits were donations from chapter members, the IPMS DC chapter, attendees at our recent Model Classic show, as well as a legacy donation in memory of a former chapter member, Mike Lampros. The kits were divided between the Red Cross unit at the hospital and the Army's Warrior Transition Brigade.

Earlier this year (January 14, 2011), the club shipped three boxes containing 67 kits to three of the POCs listed on the IPMS web site. The kits were donated by our members at the January chapter meeting and consisted of aircraft, armor, auto, and Star Trek kits.
