George wrote; "Setting up a club website this way is an absolutely GREAT idea. I really did not want to create a "formal" website as it was not clear who in our club would own it or take care of it - OR PAY for it! Using Webspawner solves all these problems - the thing is SO simple, NOBODY "owns" it, all of us in club have access and password so we ALL can take care of it, and (although you have the annoying window adds) NO collection of fees etc. to pay for it. It's a very simple site but that's great for just a "one page ad" about your club, meeting times, and contact information. All I did for ours was save off a "jpeg" version of a poster we've put up in our local hobby shop to a file and then imported that jpeg file to site just following the Wepspawner set up instructions. SO simple and really cool results. I've wanted such a site for our somewhat remote (SE Minnesota) location and to use to advertise our once a year contest location, times, rules, etc. I ain't no "webmaster" and have hardly any time for modeling so I don't want to spend it messing with html, etc. A plus is that even if someone who sets up the site leaves our chapter the rest of the members can still "own" the site and it's so simple that they can figure it out. Even if we lost the site we didn't spend hours/days/months of investment on it. This is truly a great idea for small IPMS clubs that want to "hang out their shingle" on the web.
