In this review we cover Volume 2 of the 3 volume set, 2nd Tactical Air Force from Classic Publications. [Ed.note: Jim's review of Vol.1 of this series is here.]  Volume 2 starts out with the breakout from Normandy up through the Luftwaffe's final major fighter strike in Operation 'Bodenplatte' in which the 2nd TAF aircraft and airfields fell victim to many of the German attacks.

Like Volume 1 this volume is packed with the day to day statistics and accounts of the 2nd TAF. Scattered throughout the volume are maps showing squadron locations throughout the conflict. As seems to be the norm with this series, the book is jammed pack with colored profiles and B&W photos of aircraft such as Bostons, Typhoons, Spitfires, Mosquitos, Mustangs (my favorite) and many more.

The books in this series all come with a strong hardcover on them and a glossy dust jacket depicting an aircraft from the 2nd TAF. Modelers and military aviation history buffs will find this a must have in their collection.

I would like to thank both Specialty Press and IPMS USA for the reviewing opportunity. Without any apprehension, I recommend this book to all modelers with interests in the Allied Air Campaign, specifically the RAF.
