The figures have good detail and the slight mold seams clean up well with a sharp hobby knife. However, you still get some fuzz if you try to sand them. One of the Signifier's staffs was broken in the box as was one of the javelins. There are four individuals and nine poses with multiples. 28 of the figures compose a Roman formation known as the Testudo or Tortoise. This is a phalanx of troops with shields out on three sides and over the top to defend against arrows, etc. While I am not much of a figure painter, this formation would look good on the competition table as well as the wargaming table. Speaking of wargaming, all Zvezda figure sets come with stats to use them with the "Age of Battles" system. This set includes instructions for the figures that have separate parts as well as setting up the Tortoise. A painting guide is included on the back of the box. Another nice set of figures.
