This is a new company to me. I never heard of them but I’m sure I will hear more. The subject is something different for me. I’m used to modern or Napoleonic subjects. I don’t know too much about Mayans but if this bust looks anything like the Mayans, they sure are a scary looking bunch!

[review image]This bust is in 1/9 scale and cast in a white resin that is almost flawless. No cleanup was required. I wish there were instructions that showed the placement of the 8 parts that comprised this piece, as some of them were a little ambiguous. All that was included was a color photo of the finished piece.

All of the pieces went together easily with no fit problem. I used a CA cement to make sure everything held. I spray primed with Duplicolor Automotive light grey primer. This is a lacquer based primer and dries right away. After the primer dried I painted with Vallejo and Andrea acrylic paints. I was very pleased with the way they went on and dried immediately so that I could apply multi colors in a very short time. As a final touch I added a dash of Future Floor Wax to the eyes and on the lips to make them pop. From start to finish this piece took only about four hours. I was very pleased with the way it looks and I’m looking forward to seeing future releases from Trifon Miniatures. Their product line may be seen at www.trifon.com.ar.

I wish to thank Trifon Miniatures for providing this fine review sample and to IPMS/USA for allowing me to review it. I would highly recommend this piece for something out of the ordinary to add to your collection.
