[review image] The new kit, "Eye Gone Wild" by Moebius models, is a 1960-ish Ford Street Rod, created by artist Von Franco. The kit has 39 pieces, mostly light grey. The wheels are chrome and the tires are vinyl. The plastic, made in China, is soft but workable.

The molds in my sample needed to be cleaned up and tweaked somewhat to reduce the large unsightly mold lines. This part took me the greatest amount of time to overcome. There are many mold seams! With that out of the way, the kit was a snap to build. But I will warn you: Heat the tires until they are pliable or the serrations on the rims leave gouges in the tires. (Angela at Moebius was very kind and sent me a new set.) I also made a few tweaks to the wheel hubs to bring them flush to the car.

You have a lot of latitude with this kit as far as paint jobs are concerned. You can do it any way that floats your boat. It also comes with a set of nicely printed decals with speed shop logos, flames and pinstriping. I chose to do mine a little different and went with a flat paint 50's style primer look. I used grey primer, mixed with purple and Florescent Pink. My alien is painted in a slime green color from Boyd Coddington Colors by House of Color. The flat is from Xtracrylic, which is my favorite.

Other than making blackout windows out of 010.acetate, the car is box stock and was fun and easy to build. I will give this kit a rating of 6 out of 10. It easily can be built by modelers of all ages and skill levels. Thanks to Moebius Models for the sample!
