MSRP: $35.00 Website: www.dragonmodelsusa.com In the past couple of years, Master Box of the Ukraine has produced many fine armor, figure sets and accessories for the military diorama modeler. This is one of the latest and fills the gap that has needed to be filled for a long time. I’m sure that this will be a welcome addition for many modelers that have had to scratch build watchtowers for their dioramas. This is a very straightforward build. It consists of 29 pieces to make up the watchtower and the searchlight inside it. It is molded in tan plastic with some very fine detail. Assembly is very simple and the instructions on the back of the box are very easy to follow. I’m sure that some modelers will want to add some additional items inside the tower, but it looks just fine as it is.

I was impressed with the figures in this set. The modeler has a choice of making the four figures in a regular uniform or in a winter scheme. This is achieved by engineering the figures in such a way that that a minimum of parts are needed to go from one season to another by interchanging some of the parts such as the arms and coat tails. As is their usual practice, accessories for the figures such as weapons, canteens, etc. and all are molded crisply. Since the only instructions are the back of the box, the painting guide consists of the colors shown on these instructions. This set should be on every diorama modeler’s workbench. It is cheap considering all that you get and a very simple build. I would highly recommend this and all of the Master Box kits. They really are that good.
