Hello to all. As being a new member of the reviewer corps, I wanted to jump right into reviewing. So I chose the AMT 1955 Chevy Cameo Pickup. Although I really like to build aircraft, I thought I would give the truck a try.

[review image] Well I opened the box and pulled out all the contents. There were several parts bags. Right away I noticed that the chrome pieces had a lot of flash on them and some would be unusable, maybe that was why the picture on the box didn't use some of them either. But I would wait until later to figure that out. Anyways I decided on the paint I would use and washed down the cab with warm water and dishwashing soap. I choose Testor's One Coat Lacquer "De Ja Blue". Beautiful paint by the way. It went on so smooth. With a little model polish, the finish was smooth as glass. For the truck bed, I decided on [review image] the textured look, so I painted it gloss black and while the paint was wet, I added some salt. I emptied the excess salt out and let it dry and then painted over it with some more gloss black. Also on the engine, instead of using the plastic water hose from the radiator to the motor, I had some wire that had clear plastic with a braided wire inside. So I attached the two ends of the plastic hose to the new wire and attached it to the model. I like the way it turned out.

The model went together just fine, with a few exceptions. The interior bucket was slightly warped, so I had to shave a little off the frame, so one side would sit lower. The front and rear windows were too small and I had to use some of the Model Masters Clear Parts cement and Window Maker. Never used it before, but I had it lying around, and it did the trick.

Overall it was a fun build and I hope everyone enjoys this short review and enjoys the pics. A big thanks to Suzi Klimek at Round 2 and IPMS/USA for allowing me to review it for you.
