If you are at all interested in World War One aviation kits and have hesitated, then here is the perfect reason to try one. These "Weekend Editions" can't be beat price-wise, quality-wise, or any other "wise" you can conjure up! They are simplicity itself with NO etched brass. I personally don't miss it a bit.

There is only one choice of decals. Your mind is made up for you in advance! In this case I liked what I got.

The price is right at $14.95 and the kit is up to Eduard's exceptional standards. There only 29 parts to the kit. All are beautifully cast, fit together perfectly, and in this case, needed no putty!

[review image] Eduard does use a slightly soft plastic that requires careful cutting of parts like the machine gun mounting on the upper wing. I managed to break mine and because it is finely made, gluing it back together with proper alignment was no fun. The cockpit was adequately detailed. Seat belts, make them of paper would be a nice touch.

The engine, as is usual with Eduard, is a real gem. The intake pipes really add a nice finish and are perfect! The engine is designed to rotate along with the prop, for you guys who like to run around the room making engine "noises".

Decals were a joy, and went on with no problems.. They responded well to the usual setting solutions.

It all went so well and easy that in a moment of sheer madness I rigged it. I used .0099 wire with "turnbuckles" made from #22 gauge wire and secured with "White" glue.

My only question was about the tire color, I've seen gray shades up to and including black, but never "brown":. Who am I to question! I painted them brown. Looks nice!

All in all a most enjoyable build. I heartily recommend this kit. Thanks to Eduard for the sample kit.
