Zotz has been producing excellent decals for a while now and with one of the new releases, I jumped at the chance to review them. Sheet 32-104 is for 1/32nd Scale P-51B's and concentrates on the ETO. The set consists of three sheets and an excellent set of instructions and covers three aircraft:

  • "Rebel Queen" flown by Capt. Fred Glover. This was his first assigned aircraft, serial No. 43-12214, 4th FG, 336th FS. Capt. Glover scored 10.3 victories with this Mustang. The paint scheme is overall Olive Drab on top and gray on the bottom with a red spinner and white stripes on the top of the wings and tail stabilators and 8 victory markings of white German crosses. Nose art is a sexy blonde in a red bathing suit and yellow with white outline script that reads "Rebel Queen".
  • RAF Mustang III FB166 flown by Sqd Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski OC No. 315 Sqd, Brenzett, June 1944. Sqd Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski finished with 16 confirmed air to air victories. He was KIA 18/Aug 1944. The paint scheme is Sea Grey and Olive Drab on top and Sky Grey on the underside with a white spinner. This aircraft sports full D-Day stripes and a huge number of yellow mission markings. There are also 13.5 victory markings of German crosses. There is also artwork on the side of the fuselage below the canopy.
  • RAF Mustang III FB387 flown by Sqd Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski OC No. This aircraft has a Sky rear fuselage band and white stripes on the top of the wings and tail stabilators and a huge number of yellow mission markings. There are also 13.5 victory markings of German crosses and 4 victory markings of Swastikas. There is also artwork on the side of the fuselage below the canopy.

As a follow up, the attached set of photos that show one of the selections contained as applied to the Trumpeter P-51B. The decals themselves are extremely thin, beautifully registered, opaque and excellent in color. They respond well to the Micro Scale method of setting solutions.

Highly recommended.

My thanks to Eli Raphael and Zotz for excellent subjects and great decals!.
