1/32 scale WWI aircraft modelers who want to add variety to their collection will want to check out this one. Dutch Decals has released a set that will decal four different aircraft types (both Allied and Axis) that landed on neutral Dutch soil during the 'Great War' and then were interned for the duration. Many of these aircraft were repainted into Dutch markings and put to use by both the Dutch Air Force and the Dutch Navy during and after the war.

This one set provides the insignia and codes for nine different aircraft. Included are six Fokker D-VIIs, an Se-5, a Sopwith Pup and an F.2b Brisfit. There is a lot packed into the two sheets of decals in the package. But, what really sets this unique set apart from most aftermarket sets is a full color instruction sheet that provides both color profiles and photos of the actual aircraft as well as a brief history (in Dutch and English) of each aircraft. It is very complete package to say the least.

With the exception of the Pup, all aircraft types are currently available in 1/32 scale from Wingnuts, Roden and Revell of Germany. However, Dutch Decals has provided for the future as the Pup and a new Fokker D-VII are scheduled to be released by Wingnuts shortly.

These decals are well-registered and printed crisply. They are printed on thin film and should be treated accordingly when applied. They should be slid off the paper backing into their approximate location and gently adjusted with a liberal amount of water to keep them from gripping the painted surface or folding over themselves. After carefully blotting, they will respond well to mild decal setting solutions such as Gunze's Mr. Mark Softer.

Note that this set is a short-run offering, so don't delay ordering one if you find this subject of interest. Once the supply is gone, it's gone.
