MSRP: $9.95 Website: www.eduard.cz Catalog item Eduard has released a pre-cut mask set for Hobby Boss' new F6F-3 Hellcat kit. Set EX 283 includes the masks for the windscreen, canopy, side windows, wheels and tail wheel hubs. Like the other current Eduard mask sets, this one is made of Kabuki tape, which is similar to Tamiya's masking tape. The pre-cut masks will adhere well to any compound curved surface and can be easily removed after paining is completed. A full set of instructions is included to guide the masking process. Unfortunately I received this set to review after I had completed the Hobby Boss kit review (posted elsewhere on this site), and long after I had hand masked everything the set is intended to mask. I was not able to enjoy the convenience of the Eduard masks during the build, but I did compare them against the kit parts that I had painted to check the accuracy of the pre-cut shapes. Everything appears to match up nicely. Anyone who intends to build the Hobby Boss kit may want to also purchase this set as it is sized to fit the kit's uniquely oversized windscreen and canopy (I'm sure it would have made my build go more quickly). It is recommended as a quick and easy way to handle the job of masking the kit's clear parts and wheels. My thanks to Eduard for providing the review sample.
