While searching through the new books at my local library, I happened to come across this book and what a book it is. For those of us who have seen and built model ships, and gave little or no thought to the seaplanes and catapults, you might want to pay more attention to them after reading this book.

I am thoroughly impressed by the detailed information and photos that make this book a vital resource for the Naval modeler. Chapter One is a historical review; Chapter Two gives operational use and units; Chapter Three aircraft markings; Chapter Four experimental aircraft; Chapter Five, aircraft assignments by year, location and type used. Chapter Six deals with seaplanes used on small craft, like Coast Guard ships, minesweepers and gunboats … more modeling ideas!!

The book contains 267-pages, hundreds of B/W photos, line drawings of seaplanes used and so much information that this has to be part of your Naval library. Since Christmas is coming…present ideas!!

I would like to thank the taxpayers of Lorain County, Ohio for providing the funds for this book for the Elyria Public Library.

Recommended for home libraries!
