This bimonthly magazine is a must for modelers (and aviation enthusiasts) interested in World War One aircraft. The magazine is published by Albatros Productions Ltd. in the UK who also publishes the great line of Windsock Datafiles and Specials.

This issue is a special collectors' edition, containing build reviews of the four latest releases from Wingnut Wings. These are the Albatros D.V, Albatros D.Va, Sopwith Pup (RFC) and Sopwith Pup (RNAS). The build reviews of these kits are very inclusive and show off the incredible detail incorporated in them. Cockpit interiors and engines are very detailed plus surface detail is great. As a dedicated 1/72 modeler, I am getting very tempted to build at least one of these great 1/32 scale kits.

As usual, the magazine provides additional reference material to go along with the build articles. Several good photos of the original aircraft are included along with new profiles of the two Albatros models and the Pups. One impressive inclusion is a series of photos of a reproduction of an Albatros D.Va under construction in New Zealand. Great interior and exterior details are shown. Also, the rear cover contains several photos of what I am assuming is a Sopwith Pup.

In addition to the build reviews, the magazine includes comprehensive lists of references for the models as well as a pretty complete listing of after market accessories for these kits. As usual, the magazine reviews other recent kits, decals and accessories that will be of interest to the WW I modeler. One product that I have recently become familiar with is a series of decals from Pheon Models. These are well-printed decals that offer many additional schemes for the WW I modeler.

Windsock Worldwide magazine can be obtained from selected outlets or directly from the publisher. Subscriptions are offered for both the magazine and for the regularly published Datafiles. Significant savings will result from a combined subscription. Full details and ordering forms can be obtained at their web site - http://www.windsockdatafilespecials.co.uk. The web site provides summaries of recent issues of the magazine, a full listing of all Datafiles available as well as the various specials that they have published.

This magazine is well recommended to all modelers or aviation enthusiasts interested in World War One aircraft and this particular issue is a must for anyone who contemplates the build of any of these four Wingnut models. I would like to express my thanks to Albatros Productions for kindly providing this sample for review.

Stay tuned for our own reviews of these Wingnut models. These four models are currently under construction by members of the IPMS Reviewers Corps.
