MSRP: $15.50 The 1948 Ford was the last of the body style which had dominated the 1940's with its big sleek fenders and rounded curves. The next year's models would turn into the lower and flat sided bodies. The recent 2'n1 kit is a re-release of the 48 Ford convertible with some added touches to enable it to be turned into a convertible Sunday driver or a chopped top Saturday night cruiser. Either way ends with a sleek looking car in my opinion. The box is chock full of the parts that give several choices on the final look. There are a total of seven bags containing several sprues of parts molded in white, a one piece body with separate hood, two chrome sprues, two choices of tires and a decal sheet. Overall detail looks nice and crisp. Ejector marks are, as far as I can tell, in hidden areas. There are various parts to build the flathead into a stock engine or a speed demon. There is even a original battery and the choice for a more modern version. To make choices even more difficult, it has the parts to have the top down or up. Or want a chopped look? Well it also has the roof and windshield ready for you, all you do is cut the windshield frame. The decals have the stock and customized choices. There is also three choices for the tires, two different white walls and one darker version. The instrument gauges are separate and there are two pairs of tags as well as a pair of Goodguys tags, window decal and a couple of Orange County Raceway bumper stickers. The instructions have the build laid out in ten steps for construction and one for the decal placement. No real problems stand out as far as parts placement and assembly. This looks like a nicely detailed kit right out of the box which ever version you choose to build. Thanks to Revell for the review sample.
