MSRP: $15.50

The all new 1941 Chevy when it was debuted featured a waterfall grille and various other designer touches. Powering it was a 216.5 inch "Stovebolt" six cylinder engine that gave it 90 horsepower. Looking at the example of the modern customized version on the box shows that it can even be a beauty in modern times as well.

The kit comes packed in six bags, one big one that contains most of the originally released kit. The other bags contain the clear parts, two chrome sprues in separate bags, the new custom parts and two different styles of tires. There is also a decal sheet with both the stock and custom type decals. And finally, the typical Revell instructions.

The kit is molded in white with very little flash. What flash there is looks to be concentrated on the sprue and not the parts. Ejector marks are kept to a minimum with most being in places that will be hard to see once assembled such as the inside of the hood and inside the cab roof. There are some on the frame that will be on the visible side, but these are easily sanded off. The detail is to the level of the lug nuts being distinguishable from the studs, GM part number for the motor is stamped on it, even has the crank that is stored under the seat on the gas tank which is the seat bottom. Not the best location for a gas tank in my mind though.

The custom options include chrome wheels with low profile tires, windshield visor, dual carbs with custom valve covers and stake sides as well as the custom graphics on the decal sheet.

The decal sheet it's self looks to be well done with not only the options of styles but many are duplicated in dark and light colors for use with your choice of paints. There are also decals provided for whitewalls on the tires. For the wood bed a nicely detailed decal is provided for both the bed and the sides of the stakes. Two different gauge clusters are included as well as 4 different pairs of tags and some Iron Crosses.

The instructions are typical Revell fashion laid out in ten easily understood steps. Compared to others I have dealt with recently these will be a breeze. The decal placements on the back make it hard to decide which version to do build; they both look like they would be great looking sitting on the shelf.

This looks to be a great kit for either a nice weekend build or a base for some customizing even beyond the box contents.

Thanks to Revell for the review sample.
