MSRP: $64.95

The Stuka was employed at the end of the war as a night attacker by the Luftwaffe with NSGr9. These Stukas had some of the most spectacular paint schemes seen on the Ju-87. These consisted of squiggles of RLM 79 over the standard camouflage of RLM 70/71/65.

If you are interested in what it takes to build this kit let me refer you to the review of the basic kit by Gerald Voigt on the IPMS Review site. The kit contains over 200 parts of light grey plastic parts with no flash on any of the parts. All the panel lines are recessed. Included are two crew members that actually look very well done and are comprised of seven parts each. This is indicative of the level of quality throughout the kit. I particularly like the fact that you get the dinort-spargel fuses for the SC50s under the wing. A very nice touch.

What is different in this kit to make it special? First off you get decals for two paint schemes for aircraft from NSGr9. Both are very cool looking. The instruction sheet is nicely laid out in a booklet type format. It even gives you the camouflage patterns masks for the RLM 70/71, a very nice touch. You also get a new sprue (Sprue X). Sprue X gives you the exhaust flame dampeners and the wing guns with flash suppressors. A different antenna mast is included on the sprue which houses the combined DF loop and vertical mast. Everything else is the same as the basic kit.

Is it worth the price of admission? You bet. The kit is nicely detailed with no need for aftermarket items. Maybe weighted wheels, but that is really about it. This is a big model with long wings so you'll need plenty of room but the unique paint schemes will set this model apart from the rest of your collection.

Highly recommended.
