Here's a "first-look" at the new 1/48 scale Cessna 172 kit from Minicraft.  All-new tooling includes recessed panel lines, complete interior, and removable cowling to show the detailed engine and engine bay.

The kit is being released in the floatplane version first (shown); the landplane version will be released later and will have optional speed pants for all three wheels.  Both kits feature the late-mod wingtips and overhead cabin windows.

Decals are by Cartograf and the floatplane has complete civil registrations for Canada, the UK, and the US, including extra numerals and letters.

The kit should be in the stores now...or very shortly, in any event.  Please note that the "water" base is not included with the kit---I made it to display the model in a more realistic element.
