This figure of Werner Molders is the third one I was given to review and it is even better than the first two. It is beautifully cast in two pieces with only very little flash to clean up between the legs. The face is a work of art and since it was so detailed, it was a dream to paint. It is sculpted by Tom Meier.

After cleaning up the piece which took about two minutes I glued the head on to the body with CA glue. I then glued it on to the cap of a medicine bottle ad this is my favorite choice for mounting a piece for painting.

I primed the figure with my usual primer, light grey auto primer lightly sprayed on. When this dried, I was ready to paint. I used Andrea, Model Master and Vallejo acrylics overall. The colors I used were Model Master Leather for the jacket, and Vallejo Luftwaffe Blue for the pants. The boots were painted with Vallejo Black/Grey and given a black wash to bring out the shadows. This same Black/Grey was mixed with Andrea Dark Brown to make a shadow color for the jacket.

The life vest was first painted with Andrea Flat White and when this was dry, painted over with Andrea Yellow. If you don't undercoat with white your yellow will come out looking like mustard. I used a thin wash of Medium Brown over the life jacket to show the shadows.

I painted the face with Model Master Dark Flesh tint and then highlighted with a very Light Buff color by Vallejo and shadowed with Vallejo and Andrea Medium and Dark Brown. This figure took me about two hours to complete and was a real pleasure to paint.

I would highly recommend this and all other figures from Ultracast. I wish to thank Ultracast and Dave Morrissette for giving this piece to me for review
