What great timing. I got a shipment in from Revell and it included a prepainted Snaptite® 1/72 Spitfire. Why is the timing great? My grandson Parker was visiting and wanted to build the model - time to draft another person into IPMS.

The kit consists of 18 prepainted parts which are very nicely done and have no flash. They are contained on two sprues with a separate canopy wrapped in its own plastic. The painting and markings are very nice and crisp. Parts are meant to be assembled as Snaptite® and have good locating pins. A prepainted little British pilot is also included.

Parker and I started building by following the instructions (gasp!). He had no problems cutting out the parts with a sprue cutter. It went quickly and next thing you know we had the fuselage together and the lower wing on in 20 minutes. I can say that pushing the parts together took a little pushing and I helped with that. We stopped here. Parker wanted to play with the plane so I thought some Tamiya thin cement would increase the life and I glued the fuselage and the wings on with some clamps and let it sit overnight.

The next day, we added the landing gear and the canopy and the tail parts and were done. The kit looks nice and every bit a Spitfire. Parker is 7 and had no problem doing the work himself. Total build was much less than an hour. Sure, there is missing paint from where the sprues were nipped off - he doesn't care. The real win is the smile he has playing with it.

I want to say a sincere thanks to Revell for the chance to build the kit. Recommended to all modelers and especially those young pilots who want a quick build and some real fun.
