Note: Kit is called "Me262A/B" but instructions say CS-92. I think it is marketing -- not many know of the Czech version. it does only come with Czech markings.

[kit boxart image] [review image] As one afflicted with AMS, I find a need a break or kick start now and again. And here comes Eduard with a perfect kit for that. The kit is two versions of the Avia S-92 / CS-92 which is a Czech produced Me262. There are two sprues in Eduard's green-grey color which contain the fuselages for either a single or two seat version. Both canopies are included and a single sheet of painting and assembly instructions. There are markings for one aircraft in Czech service. Parts are very well done and crisp.

Total parts are around 32. You need to pick your choice of single or dual seat. The cockpit is nice for this scale but the detail is minimal with no stick or instrument panel due to size. I have seen someone already detail this area and it is for those with seriously good eyesight or excellent visors. Prior to joining the fuselage, add the needed weight and cockpit./ A nice feature here is that the main landing gear bay is open to the bottom of the cockpit as it is on the real thing.

The wings and tail parts are added. The engine nacelles have separate parts for both ends of the Jumo engines and fir well to the wings. In fact, the entire kit fits almost perfectly. The canopy can then be added and masked (which is interesting in this scale).

The paint scheme is simple- RLM 02 gray overall. Once this is done, gloss and the decals go on very well also (even the large (relatively) wing walks). A coat of flat and some pastel work to highlight the nice panel lines and a final seal.

You have the choice of adding drop tanks which was added as I was doing the two-seater. The landing gear was last and a quick final flat.

What a great kit. For $4, you simply can't beat it and it can be done in a weekend. For the AMS crowd, you have a perfect start for super detailing a excellent kit.

Very highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

My thanks to Jana Sulcova and Eduard for making the kit and giving myself and IPMS/USA the opportunity to review it.
