One of the new releases in their line of excellent decals is set 48-173 made for the 1/48th scale Revell or Hasegawa F-18E which is for a colorful CAG plane with a very patriotic tail plane. There is one large and two small sheets included which provide all the needed decals to make this colorful plane. Decals have excellent color, are in good register and were printed by Microscale.

There will be some painting required as the spine of the plane is FS35044. TwoBobs has excellent drawings showing the location of the color and includes white trim decals so that you mask and paint and decals and you’re done. There also several multipart decals which will need applied - some people have a problem with this type but I think it insures good alignment and better opacity. It may take a little longer but is worth it to me!

The instructions also include pictures of the real jet, color call out by FS numbers, a history of VFA-137 (the Kestrels which are affectionately called "The Flying Butt Cheeks" - gotta love that!) and a nice list of "What’s out there" as far as kits and aftermarket.

I have used TwoBobs decals on a bunch of kits - and loved them. Not only are the schemes great, they apply well coming from Microscale. This is a highly recommended set to dress up the new hornet! Like the company motto says, "Two Accurate? Two Colorful? - Twobobs!" My thanks to Bob Sanchez and TwoBobs for the chance to review this set.
