MSRP: $11.99 Web Site: www.mawdecals.com In the past, modelers had a limited source of decals for stenciling and detailing their models. Sure, marking schemes came out but many still required use of the kit stencils or marking for the ordnance. And some of the kit decals were less than great. Fortunately, things are changing and the MAW decals set 48-MAW012 from Creighton Henthorn is a perfect add on to any F-18 versions A to D. This sheet provides a comprehensive set of stencils for one aircraft including all sides of the plane, weapons pylons and launch rails, landing gear and doors. It also provides excellent markings for those "things under wings" including GBU-12D, AIM-9L, AGM-65E, AN/AAN-28, AN/AAN-38 and AN/ASQ-173 pods. Slime lights are included to replace the kit decals. And lastly, decals are provided for the SJU-5/6 ejection seat. The decals are perfectly printed in excellent colors (including metallic) by Cartograph. While kit decals have improved, aftermarket decals like this show the true state of the art with excellent research and printing. These get the highest marks and are recommended.
