Here's a welcome set for those of you wanting something different for your PCM Spitfire IX. Part 3 of EagleCals Spitfire IX family features three aircraft flown by Canadians. These are:
  • BS152, AE-W of 402 Sqn RCAF, March 1943. Flown by SqnLdr. Lorne Cameron, this aircraft has a large nose art emblem of a skull thumbing its 'nose.'
  • MK826, GC-K of 412 Sqn RCAF, Sept. 1943. This Spitfire was piloted by WgCdr. George Keefer and bears his initials and a Wing Commander's pennant under the port side cockpit.
  • EN398, AE-B of 402 Sqn RCAF, March 1943. A companion to BS152, this Spitfire was the mount of Ian Keltie, who later ceded the aircraft to WgCdr. "Johnnie" Johnson. This aircraft features Popeye nose-art.
In addition to the individual markings for each subject, EagleCals includes a complete set of national marking and stenciling for one model. The decals are printed by Microscale; they are in-register and exhibit no obvious flaws. Experience tells me that they should settle down very well with the Microscale system.

This set is also available in 1/48 and 1/72 scales, ideal for all you Spitfire enthusiasts out there!

My thanks to Eagle Editions for the review sample. Eagle Editions products are available directly from their http://www.eagle-editions.com/.
