MSRP: $19.95 ISBN: 0760334501 Web Site: www.zenithpress.com This is a very nice soft cover book that contains 192 pages and is loaded with color pictures, drawings and informative charts and graphs that cover production runs, organizational info, such as bomb groups and types of aircraft as well as plenty of informational text. The book is broken into four basic segments of the ETO bombers that served. The British, the American, the Soviet and as they call it, the Low Countries ( France, Italy and the like). It is informative and makes a handy reference guide to the strategic and tactical bombers used in the ETO during the second world war. It is well written and researched from what I could read and cross reference. It would be an attractive addition to any WW II buff and modeler's library. They only criticism I would have is it's complete lack of mention of the B-29 and the Pacific theater of operations. Surely the B-29 and B-25's in that arena would be considered essential. With this notable exception, I found this a great addition to my reference library and well worth the $20 price tag. Very recommended as a welcome addition to any modelers book collection. A big thank you to Zenith press and IPMS for the review sample. |
