The X-15 has a unique place in aviation history. The research provided by this program was some of the most far-reaching ever undertaken. This book is awesome. It covers the program and the X-15's history completely in 264 pages. With 500 photos and well written text to accompany them This softbound volume is a bargain even if you just have a passing interest in the history of the X-15. There is also a companion volume called the X-15 Photo Scrapbook that includes an additional 400 pictures and illustrations. I found the se book just intriguing to read and look through. Needless to say, if your modeling an X-15 this is the book to have for your research.

The chapters on the science involved in the program and on the bases in the desert are wonderful additions to the book and gives some insight into the program and sets this book above a simple picture book of the aircraft with some history thrown in.

Specialty Press has given us an impressive amount of research material in their other offerings such as the Warbird Tech series but they have truly topped themselves with this offering. If you're into the X-15, you'll want to get a copy of this book. Highest recommendation for this one!!!

My sincerest thanks to Specialty Press for the review sample.
