If you have not seen these books then you are missing out on an interesting and useful reference source. This is the second Aufklarer volume covering Luftwaffe Reconnaissance units and the aircraft operated during the mid to late war years. Short range, long range and maritime units, as well as night operations are covered in detail. The responsibilities of the officers of these units are covered as well. Short descriptions of each unit are given as well as brief histories of a few selected units. Personal accounts of Luftwaffe crew are also included. I am amazed by the variety of aircraft used by the Luftwaffe for the various Reconnaissance duties. There are 22 (not including sub-variants) different types of aircraft featured in this book. Period photos are combined with outstanding color profiles. A few color photos are included as well. All profiles are accompanied by at least one photo of the depicted aircraft. Frankly, as good as the rest of this book is, the photos are the reason you should buy this volume. There is a wealth of information here, including some nice photos of the cameras, camera bays, and crews working on these aircraft. I highly recommend this book.
