The continuation of the Classic Publications series on Luftwaffe subjects is focused on the vaunted Bf-110 from 1941-1945. This book picks up right after the Battle of Britain in which the Bf-110 showed its first signs of weakness against enemy fighters. Despite their shortcomings, the Zerstorers continued to serve on every front until the end of the war.

This softbound 96-page book is in keeping with the rest of the Classic Colours series. The text is a broad overview of the operations, and is up to the normal standard of the Jagdwaffe and Kampflieger series.

The color profiles are exceptionally well done and offer a variety of paint schemes from the various fronts.

Every variant of the Bf-110 is covered from the C-4 through the G-2. I particularly enjoyed the extremely large wasp (wespe) emblem on the nose of some of the subject aircraft. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the shark mouth too. Both emblems are shown in color drawings and photos. This will provide lots of inspiration to the modeler.

The photos are well printed, in focus and large enough to be useful. You can watch the evolution of the camouflage with the changing war conditions. Also covered are the various armament configurations the Bf-110 carried into battle. These alone will keep modelers busy.

If there is any detraction to this book it is the lack of the coverage of the Me-210, Me-410, Ar-240 and Ju-88. There are no photos and the text does not even address these aircraft. Hopefully there will be another book but there is no indication of this.

Despite the lack of coverage on these airplanes, I highly recommend this book and the entire series. This book will provide plenty of inspiration for the modeler.
