Reviewed By Ed Kinney, IPMS# 2989 |
MSRP: Subscription (6 issues) £ 48.00 ($70.10) Web Site: www.airmodeller.com In this issue, Julien Haccoun tackles the aging Monogram 1/48th scale C-47 and what a magnificent effort it is ! And as a follow-up, this issues' "Xtreme Detail" is devoted to (what else?) the C-47…Six full color detail pages of photos well worth having if you have an interest in this venerable machine. Next is a photo essay on the colorful QinetiQ VAAC Harrier XW-175 by Mike Cleaver. An excellent collection of color shots of this unusual bird. Harold Klaus follows with a build article on the 1/32nd scale FW-190D of Hans Dortman, along with a "how to" article creating a "stressed skin" effect. Keeping with the larger scale, Jamie Haggo offers us an outstanding build article on the Hasegawa 1/32nd P-47D bubble top in a natural metal finish. In 1/48th, back to back articles by Periklis Salessiotis on a rebuild of the Revell A-7E as a Greek fighter and Franck Oudin tackles the new Eduard F-6F3 Hellcat. Another regular segment is "Air Born", a collection of "what's new" in books, kits, decals and aftermarket photo etched and resin updates. Air Modeller is a high quality publication, full color on heavy stock, and worthwhile having. Email them for subscription information at info@airmodeller.com Highly recommended. |
